My love of fragrances began at an early age playing with my grandmother’s scented powder puffs closely followed by my highly-prized, totally awesome scratch and sniff sticker collection (it was the 80’s, after all). I’ve always believed scent has been my strongest sense and I love how the faintest smell wafting by can trigger such a strong emotional response or memory. To this day, I cannot smell oatmeal with raisins without vividly remembering my preschool days. 

Three years ago, I began making candles as a hobby and quickly fell in love with all it had to offer. I fancied myself a chandler! Testing endless fragrances to find the best of the best and blending them to create something amazing and new became my passion. Creating wax melts came organically through candle making and ultimately became my favored craft. But why, you ask, candles are so lovely and relaxing? True, they are, but I wanted to create something I could use and enjoy without stress. Right around the time I was falling in love with candle making, my daughter was learning to walk and those beautiful candles with their dancing flames began to have the opposite of their intended purpose, stress! I resorted to only burning candles in the bathroom or on the kitchen counter, when windows were closed, ceiling fans were off, and NEVER when Mercury was in Retrograde. OK, I’m joking (sort of), but it occurred to me that I no longer found burning candles relaxing or calming so I bought a couple wax melters and never looked back. Wax melts allow us to fill our home with all our favorite scents without the worry of open flames.
